Orphan Boy

This picture makes Gordo think of an orphan boy who has just been told he isn't really being adopted.

"Wait. So they AREN'T going to be picking me up?"

I laughed so hard when Gordo said that, that my sides hurt.

The Rest

I posted that picture of Bubba yesterday and didn't have time to post any more, so here I am on Taste Test Tuesday writing a little about the fam.

As I said, Bubba turned 6 months old last Sunday. It hard to believe that a whole half a year has gone by. He rolls over both directions with little effort, loves his feet, couldn't live without his binki, and makes me smile everyday. He is a champion at eating food, in fact, I stocked up last Saturday and here is the proof.

Just the stack of "1st solids" that I unloaded from the boxes.

My Sam's membership expired the first of March, so it was perfect timing to go and stock up on baby food. We bought 216 cans of food (12 boxes of 18 cans). Although this may seem like a lot, I doubt it will get us through the baby food eating stage. We now have a Costco card, and, unfortunately, Costco doesn't sell baby food. (I'm one of those weird people who prefer Sam's to Costco, but Costco is much closer now.)

Beeba is starting to get in the phase where she says really funny things the only problem is I can't always remember what they are when I sit down to write. I'll have to start carrying a notebook with me so that I can remember. Other than that, she is two and acts like it; a terror one minute and jewel the next.

Gordo's marathon training is going well. He runs almost everyday and works out at least twice a day. To top that off he just finished his first block of classes and has received one of his grades back; he worked hard and deserved the A he received.

As for me, I'm just excited to be making my favorite meal, turkey soup. The in-laws had turkey on Sunday and graciously gave me the carcasses; I love when I don't have to eat a whole turkey before I can enjoy the soup!

Can't Wait

Just edited this picture of Bubba yesterday at his 6 month photo shoot, and I loved it so much I couldn't wait to share it!

Your Turn

This week's reading had so many interesting things to contemplate. Instead of picking one myself this week I was wondering where the reading lead your thoughts? The birth of Jesus was such a special event I'm sure you have thoughts.

Training

Training went well this week. I lost some poundage too so that was kind of a bonus, not what I running for but a bonus none the less.

I'll be running four miles tomorrow, I think I'll do okay, I mean, I usually run 3 miles during my weekday runs so what another mile? (I guarantee I won't be saying that when I'm increasing in the teen and twenty mileage range.)

Other than that, not much to report here other than I wish deer would start to employ the buddy system. One meandered out of some trees about 5 feet in front of me, stopped, looked around (thankfully not at me or I would have seriously peed my pants), then crossed the street. Sounds okay except deer emerge one at a time (hence thinking they should have a buddy system) and you never know how many there might be. Two, four, seven? You don't know. This particular time there were only two, but I definitely stayed still for about five minutes just to ensure I wouldn't be met by one when I crossed their path.

If you want more interesting or motivating posts, head on over to Gordo's blog.
